1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
Yes. If he agrees to bring in a X's and O's OC who can work with JR.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
Tom Cable. Who knows?
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
Yes. He is doing better than i expected with the turnstile at LT,WR and Playcaller.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
1. McFadden 2. Bush Fargas spells tired backs and helps with depth and short yardage.
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
Keep him b/c cutting him saves us no money until after next season i believe. If we are paying him at least give him a shot in TC.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
C. Grove is always hurt and he could fill in a G. Henderson looks useful. RT needs a major upgrade. Green can at least run block. Harris is worthless. Neither should start.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
A starting DE who plays everydown and a nice young DT to platoon with.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
OLB or 1/2 MLB's in a 3-4. Unless we load up the DT position and keep blockers off him. The combo of him and Howard is weak against the run yet great against the pass.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
Yes. Please dont draft a Cb in the first 4 rounds AL!
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
Needs to be coached. Rob Ryan is clueless. Not worth the money, but still has talent and is young. It took Nnamdi awhile to find his way too. Maybe play him at Cb.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Burned and then forced to watch his brothers D show up every week in B-More with a Big Ben Jersey on. Only to later be stabbed and raped by local homo thugs.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Gross. Housh is the man too. But Gross is a great LT and he is still young for a OLman.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Crabtree 10/10 times.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
Aaron Curry, Rey Rey, Maclin, T.Mays or Orakpo.

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
Based on the mess he inherited and the team not quitting the final two weeks, I think he merits serious consideration. Also would keep the ZBS in place.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
There's really no one that we're going to bring in that would be a huge upgrade over Cable IMO. If its a Fassil or Gilbride type, I just assume stick with Cable and bring in a decent OC to work under him.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
I think given what he has to work with, probably on target. I definitely think he's the guy that can win here. While still making rookie mistakes at times, he doesn't seem flappable. Really showed me something today.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
Real tough call at this point but Bush looks like the real workhorse type back that can handle 20-25 carries a game. I see DMac as more of a compliment type in the mold of Reggie Bush. I might consider moving Fargas for the simple reason that he just can't stay healthy.
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
I just assume cut ties with him. He's obviously not in the best mental frame of mind to play at this level.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
I still feel that money would be best spent on the LT position although the likelihood of landing Jordan Gross would be very slim. Million dollar question, is Mario ready to assume the LT job permanently?
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
Just getting inconsistent play from interior line. Really need to badly upgrade the NT position. Aside from signing Fat Albert which is a huge longshot, we'd be better served signing a Tank Johnson type and drafting BJ Raji or Cody
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
Definitely outside. Just doesn't think he's able to disengage blockers to be a very effective MIKE. Not helping matters is that our interior line doesn't get much penetration.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
Certainly as good as anyone we've had opposite Aso in recent years and has made some big plays. Just will depend on how much we are willing to pay him.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
Right now appears that way.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Both. Our front four got absolutely no pressure on Garcia all game long and he did nothing to help alleviate this.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Gross
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Crabtree
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
I'm leaning towards Macklin but would be happy with either Aaron Curry or Rey Rey

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
Based on the past several seasons, yes.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
I would like to see Cable get a fair shot.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
I think he's coming along just fine... IMO he has a bright future if we can surround him with quality blocking and receiving talent.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
Something along the lines of the Giants. I do think McFadden should be carrying 60-70% of the load, then split the rest between Fargus and Bush in the situations that suit them best.
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
Sever ties clean... he's nothing but baggage at this point.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
Unless this Henderson kid is a complete illusion, I'd say center is what ails us most. I think that McUgly dude could have a future at RT for us. Be nice if we could get a wily veteran to run things from center, but one that still has talent left, not a worn out sack of shit.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
We need a three down RE and DT, one of those two needs to be a difference maker. I think if we can get a ProBowl type it'll make our current guys look satisfactory in a rotation, but we're short two starters for 4-3 front.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
I personally don't have a problem with Morry. He's no Matt Millen type guard stuffer, but he's a player, and he can't be judged properly when he's playing behind the sacks of shit he is. Our back seven doesn't get a helluva lotta help from the guys up front.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
I'd like him too... I'd like to believe he's adequate. IMO with our secondary having two outstanding players in Aso and Wilson, that's good enough to lift the more average players around them into being a fine secondary. As long as Johnson plays smart he has the skills to be a good complement opposite Aso.
As I said about the D-line, I don't believe we need a stud to fill out every position at every level of the defense, but you do need a stud or two at each level, and IMO we have that in the secondary so Johnson will be fine.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
I haven't lost hope... I think he could still have a future at corner or FS. We need a D-coordinator that doesn't have his head up his ass to figure out how to best utilize and build confidence in this very talented young DB.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Federal ass pound prison.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
I'd take Gross. We can never have enough tackles on this team. Even if our youngsters work out, we're just an injury away from starting the likes of Cornell Green. :nono:
Also, nothing against Housh, who is a fine receiver, but I don't think he's in the right time of career for this team. He's pretty old(32?) and he's going to get a monster deal. He's also hurt every season so I could see him coming here and being blown out for half the games next year, then we end up with an overpaid, aging, WR in a year or two, where Gross could come in and lock down a tackle spot for the next five seasons.
This is a no-brainer IMO.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Crabs is looking like the BPA in the entire draft, no?.... need meets talent for an easy decision.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
I really couldn't say since I don't study college players till closer to draft time.
14. Pick 5 positions you want to see players drafted at:
WR
OT
DT
C
DE
I'd really like to stock up and lock down this offense at this point... while the D-front is worthless and weak, I think the D is probably adequate as it stands(good enough to win with) with a coordinator who isn't an ass kissing, pussy.
I'd like to have a strong offense if we have to pick one side, that's where I think I we have a real bright future.

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
Yes.
For all the hype about Kiffin and everyone talking about how well the team was playing (though losing) for him, the bottom line is this: Kiffin was 5-16 as a head coach. Cable, with the same personnel, was 4-7. This year Kiffin beat Kansas City. Cable beat the Jets, Bucs, Broncos and Texans. That's four wins over 8-8 and 9-7 teams. Granted, Cable's teams also looked like complete garbage against Atlanta, New Orleans and Carolina (on offense).
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
Cable. For the sake of stability.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
Yes. I actually love more and more every day how he's been handled, too, because he's not been put in a situation where he's trying to use his golden arm to pull of throws he shouldn't be making. Maybe that's the silver lining in having no WRs for the first three months of his playing days -- he learned to check down a lot and not force throws.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
Darren McFadden: 50-60 percent
Justin Fargas: 20-25 percent
Michael Bush: 20-25 percent
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
Cut him. Make him retire. Do whatever, just make him go away.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
Tackle. I have enough confidence in Mario Henderson, I think, to make him a LT or a RT. So I'll just take the best available tackle, and have him play wherever he's best.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
Albert Haynesworth in, Gerard Warren out.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
With two big hogs in front of him, MLB. Without them, OLB.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
Yes.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
No. Try him at nickel.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
I still have a hard time blaming him for everything, when guys like Sapp are telling stories about Al Davis not letting him do certain things.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Gross because he's younger and they both fill needs.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Crabtree. I want the guy I think is the best player, and I think Crabtree is the best.
Of course, with 5 wins now, we're going to be drafting 7 or 8, and neither will be available.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
Michael Johnson, Everette Brown or Rey Malaluga

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
I think he's done enough to be CONSIDERED for the job, which is not something I would have said two weeks ago...
The fact that we completely no showed as a team in 5 of 12 games under his watch merits some concern IMO... As is the under use of McFadden and Bush, as well as the stubborn dedication to Kwame... If I was Al, I'd have Cable interview with what his plan/strategy would be as far as personnel and coaches... I'd certainly see what else is out there before just handing the gig to Cable...
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
Todd Haley, Denny Green or Tom Rathman in that order, though I go back and forth slotting Green...
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
I think the progression could have been faster... Obviously the inability to get him into camp as a rookie and the change in coaches has slowed things down... I see some things I really like (calmness in the pocket/touch to the post) and some things I don't (fumbles, lack of touch to the flats, bird dogging receivers)... It still looks like we're only giving him half the field to read which is acceptable for a 1st and 2nd year player, not so much past that... This is a very important offseason for the kid...
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
Dmac 60%
Bush 30%
Fargas 10%
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
I'm hoping he retires because I think we save some loot... Outside of experience, what does he bring to the table that Schillens doesn't?... He doesn't have the explosiveness to be a #1 receiver at this point, and that's kind of what we need... If anything he's better suited to play in a WCO right now...
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
I'm going to say center... Mario has done enough to get a look at LT, and a good center is harder to find than a RT... We should be all over Matt Birk in free agency...
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
I'd like to see a 30 front... It's just too hard to find dominant DT's and pass rushing ends... What I don't want to see is another year with so many 250 lb DE's in the rotation...
Based on teams leading the league in sacks, offenses have a harder time in pass pro vs 34 teams... Get me a big nose tackle to start and let's roll...
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
MLB
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
He's certainly earned it...
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
Trade bait...
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Unjustly scapegoated... There's a reason Raider fans end up hating every single DC we put out there... Al's going to have to back off and let the DC run his own scheme instead of being an extension of Al, otherwise people will be calling for the next DC's head as well... I'm calling it, Rob Ryan will go someplace else and be aggressive and very successful...
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Jordan Gross... He plays a need position at a high level and Housh is at the age where receivers start to lose steam off their fastball...
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Leaning to Crabtree right now... He's got the Jerry Rice kind of attitude....
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
Rey Rey

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
Well thats Hard for me to answer, I do think he has done a nice job. Not Sure if he is best for us but I like the stability for the Offense and J-Russ. So if he stays I won't be that upset.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
NOT RYAN. I would like to either see a retread, or Cable. NOT a young guy and not someone that can't handle Al.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
Yes, with this line and WR's we have I am surprised he survived, I think he will come out next year really looking like a Vet and having targets he got use to in Chaz and Higgy.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year? I am not Sorry but "I LOVE BUSH" I would start the season with Bush and McFadden and either Splitting or Rotation of all 3 guys, if their here. I think we need to Trade or cut Fargas or Re-work his deal, We need the money to resign Aso and Lechler
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
CUT HIM NOW
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
RT if Henderson is gonna be the guy at LT.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
3-4. Kelly can play that NT spot and Richardson can be on one out side spot and Trevor can platoon with who ever else we get.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
I love Capt Kirk, look at his numbers this year, they were out standing. I perfer the 3-4 and he could play a ILB
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
Like him but don't think he is that good, we can replace him Aso we can't replace. Sign Aso and if Chris is asking to much let him walk.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
CUT HIM NOW Sorry I give up.....
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Ditto : CUT HIM NOW Sorry I give up......
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Gross,,,,we have some guys that proved they can play at WR, not on the line.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Oher, like I said we have more of the Need there.

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
I think he's done enough to enter the race along with candidates that have experience like Denny Green and Fassel. But i'm not ready to give him the job outright. We looked good in 3 games, terrible in 4, bad in 2 and decent in the other 3.
not a good enough mix to warrant handing him the keys without looking around.
But if it comes down to Cable or a gamble hire, i'd much rather prefer Cable.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
Denny Green. I'd like to see Cable remain on the staff, maybe as an OC, but Green is a guy who knows what he's doing.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
Theres been times where ive been close to pretty much chalking the guy up as a bust. But over the last half of the season, i think he is more comfy and things are slowing down and he is showing real improvement.
The changes at WR could also have helped. In the past 2 weeks, our starting WRs have caught 4 TDs combined...where has that been all year?
I think this offseason will either make or break him. If he works hard, gets some guidance and shakes some bad habits, he could come in looking strong next year and really take off. But if he doesnt and he gets off to a slow start, being a 3rd year player, people wont hesitate to write him off.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
i think you gotta base it on situations. short yardage, 4th quarter, small/big d-lines, 4-3's vs. 3-4's, etc.
theres no generalization, but i'd definately lie to see McFadden get more carries. I'd like to see Bush slowly work into Fargas' current role, and see us let Fargas loose on tired defenses.
all 3 have injury issues, so i would hope we keep all 3, because im sure we'll need them.
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
Its probably cheaper to keep him, but honestly i think (and hope) he retires.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
Center. This line needs an anchor, and i guy who can help our young QB by picking up things on his own. We MIGHT already have a LT in Hendo, and the RT spot is a lot easier to fill than C.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
Depth all across the board. Bigger DE's and DTs with better work-rates.
Im pretty much in HB's 3-4 camp, so i wouldnt oppose trading down in the 1st and taking BJ Raji and using a 3rd on my boy Follet to be our mini-Merriman.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
3-4, ILB. In a 4-3, SLB.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
yes. hes played better alongside aso than anybody we've had. He's made plays, and hes really made huge strides with his coaching from Deion Sanders. I think he'll actually get better with time, and am hoping we lock him up.
10. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
not yet. he hasnt been good, or even decent in most games, but he's stil 6-1, 205 with 4.3 speed and fluid hips with a good head on his shoulders.
this coaching staff MUST find a way to make the most out of him while he's here.
11. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Rob Ryan walks away unharmed. The "Al Davis Defensive Playbook" however get burned and the ashes get whizzed on.
There really hasnt been much room for Ryan to actually "coordinate", so i dont know if you can really put all of the blame on him. He hasnt done a great job in the areas he can control, so i wouldnt mind seeing him get fired. But to think the next guy is going to bring pressure and mix things up is just naive.
12. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Gross. He is younger and would help out in so many ways. Giving Jamarcus time to read and confidence, giving WRs time to get open, giving RBs better holes, etc. Also fills two holes really, because it allows us to try Mario at RT, possibly solidifying both spots. (although i think Mario is better suited for the LT role than RT)
13. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Crabtree. Im really hoping we get a chance to draft this guy, somehow.
14. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
As always, i'd like to trade down. But at 7, I go with Aaron Curry, Rey Maualuga, the 3rd OT, Maclin, Orakpo or Taylor Mays depending on whos still there.

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
Maybe. Obviously depends what Al thinks. I think he might have saved his job with the two game winning streak. If I am not mistaken Al will have to interview a minority candidate before handing the job to Cable. Denny Green seems a likely interview (if he will go through it again). I also think that it's imperative that Al talk to more than just one guy. Not a fan of dragging it out until March but Cable is no lock to be named the HC.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
At this point for me Cable might be as good a hire as the next guy off the scrap heap. However, Fassel has guided a team to the Super Bowl and Green has done some good things in the league short of getting to the Big Dance.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
I'm encouraged. Yesterday he did get some decent protection and stood in the pocket for a change. His throwing motion was completely different and he threw the ball with authority and more accuracy. I'm happy with his development although it got off to a rocky start.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
McFadden - 60%
Bush - 20%
Fargas - 20%
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
Cut his sorry ass. Hopefully he'll just retire and go away. He's a head case and the only reason he played at all last year is that Al threw crazy money at him. His head isn't into football.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
Center. Right Tackle. (This assumes Henderson showed enough to be our LT -- I think he did) Hopefully McUgly can come back and man the RT slot. I think he did some good things in his rookie year.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
Ugh. I don't know. My instructions are simple: Fix it. :D
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
If we could only find a suitable replacement move him to the outside. He's just not physical enough to play MLB.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
He's earned a starting spot the way I see it. Al likes him a lot too so that's probably where he'll be.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
D'oh. Whiff. Not sure what we could get in trade value. Probably not much. Huff just doesn't seem to have grasped the NFL game.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Funny thing is I hate his track record. But I don't know if it's possible to move to the 34. If so that is his thing. Otherwise I'm let him go. He's had six years here and doesn't seem to be able to adjust his schemes to his personnel -- whoever they are. I'm done but I understand where HBoy is coming from. Hard to know how much Al is meddling.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Gross (Pipe dream in my opinion). I'm not sure I like Housh's age.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Since Henderson seems to have earned the LT job I'd go with Crabtree although I'd be shocked if he was there at seven.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
The linebacker from USC. Not sure Al would go with a linebacker that high but then he took Huff so...nobody knows what he'll do.

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
"Keep the job?" -- NO. But he's done enough to warrant being on the short list of candidates along with Fassel, Haley, and McDaniels.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
Todd Haley would be my first choice followed by Cable then Fassel. I'm just not a fan of Denny Green.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
I don't think "fast enough" is anything we can evaluate with any sort of credibility. The fact that he's "progressing" from week to week is very encouraging, however, and something that I don't think can be denied. He does have his bonehead moments but he also has that Favreian quality of dropping his mistakes completely out of his mind on the next series (see yesterday for perfect example).
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
70/30 for McFadden/Bush and Fargas gets moved for a 4th round pick.
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
Cut him.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
Well LT needs to be addressed first from the standpoint of whether or not to keep Henderson or draft an LT? Everything else will be affected by that decision.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
I'd re-work Warren's contract as he's making over $6m/season. Keep Burgess for another year but find/draft another DE to take over 1st down for him and relegate him to situational pass rush extraordinare. I love Orakpo, but I'm not sure if he's an every down type of DE. He sure seems to be a lot more Gaines Adams than Mario Williams to me. Which is fine, but this team needs a 3-down DE. Tyson Jackson might be the better fit and if we go to a 30 front, he's a prototypical 3-4 DE.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
Who can say for sure since he's hardly played OLB in the NFL. He's no Ray Lewis, but you can't argue his productivity with respect to tackles and INT's.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
I damn sure hope so because if they can re-up Nnamdi long term and get Johnson done as well I'd rather go that route than see Malcolm Jenkins or Vontae Davis' name on our card with the #7 pick. I can already see Al having monster wood for Vontae once he grades out at the combine.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
Cut bait.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Not the sole offender for the D's troubles, but he does warrant some blame. It's hard to know just how much Al is meddling in the Defense. I'll say this much, for all the grief the fans give him you don't hear of a player saying a cross word about the guy. Loyalty isn't the end-all be-all, but it is indicative of leadership and players buying in.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
This isn't even close, Jordan Gross. He'd immediately solve a bookend and would take a lot of heat off of Russell and McFadden. Why draft those guys if you aren't going to keep them clean?
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Personally, I'd take Crabtree. I see Oher as a much better RT than LT and also a better fit for a man blocking scheme. That's not to say he couldn't work out in the ZBS, I just don't have anything to go on via film since he's been in a man system at Ole Miss. Crabtree has that "it" factor going on. Not as physically dominant as Calvin Johnson was coming out, but a much better route runner and definite student of the game. I don't think he's "can't miss", but he's pretty close.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
Orakpo's probably my pick... even over Maualuga and Mays.
14. Pick 5 positions you want to see players drafted at:
OT
DE
WR
C
DT

Just cause I feel like typing, and to provoke a bit of discussion:
1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job? Yes. It's going to be slim pickins for us again and he's as good/experienced as anyone we'll be able to bring in.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year? Cable. I like continuity, I like coaches that want to coach in Oakland, and I like how he kept his troops together under the most difficult of circumstances. He's a battler and I like his make up.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here? Fast enough? No. But I am a patient man. I do believe however that Russell will be a fixture at qb for the next 10 seasons and will be among the best in the league in time.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year? 75% Dmac 25% Bush. Trade Fargas for whatever we can get.
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep? Cut or trade him. Don't keep dead weight around on the roster.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C? Right tackle hands down. Green is nothing more than a capable backup. Center second and left guard a distant third. I've never been sold on Carlisle.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line? Beef up the middle. Save your pennies and land a whale like Henderson. I think between Burgess and Scott we've got some heat on the edges.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB? Can't say. If we drafted Rey I'd say Kirk would be a better OLB;)
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job? Yes. Super fast and still young and showed great instincts. A little raw right now but some refinement could put this cat among the best.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause? Trade him. Get whatever you can before it's too late.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks? Gonzo. New x/o man on defense could be just what the doctor ordered.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take? Gross. No-brainer.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)? The Crab hands down. I like sexy picks.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick? Monroe or Rey Rey
14. Pick 5 positions you want to see players drafted at:
WR
OT
DT
OG
OT

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
Enough to stay another year. If he can maintain the .500 win-loss ratio he's had in the past six games, it'll be worth it just to show these players that they can achieve a modicum of victory. If nothing else, he found a way to motivate an entire Raiders squad in December, which no one has done since Gruden.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
Realistically, the only people who want the job are the Cable Guy and the Fossil Guy.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
He'll do great with the right people around him. He's found ways to win with no talent at WR and he maintained his composure in games and situations that broke Harrington, Carr, et. al. I don't think he'll ever be an MVP, but he can be the fearless leader of a championship team, which is all we need from him.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
60/40 McFadden and Bush, with Fargas to spell.
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
Have him GTFO.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
RT then C. Henderson's earned a shot at starting.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
A rookie NT with more upside than Terd and serious depth at DE.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
If we can get a solid starter at MLB, then he should be Sam, but realistically we can't afford experimenting with a brand new Mike until the DL is rock solid.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
I'd rather keep him than risk another DeAngelo Hall.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
Lost cause. Unless he shows some potential as a nickelback, he's on his way to being the new Derrick Gibson.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Just make him go away.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Gross. Palmer and CJ had a good deal to do with Housh looking good a few years back. He's old news now.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Crabtree. This franchise has rotten luck with first rounders in general, and worse luck with first round OL. Can't afford to wait another five years for yet another first round tackle to find out he's better playing LG.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
Mauauauaualaga?
14. Pick 5 positions you want to see players drafted at:
NT, RT, DE, DE, WR. But it'll probably be CB, S, CB, WR, T.
Just cause I feel like typing, and to provoke a bit of discussion:
1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
Yes, This team cannot afford another coaching change, not this year anyways, things are on a roll. Quit opening the oven door and let the shit cook already
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
I wanted Heimerdinger, however I have been very pleased the way Cable has gotten this team to play. I'd actually give Knapp the pickslip and let Cable hire an assiatant OC, a young innovative guy that can work alongside , put him upstairs in the box and communicate down on the field with Cable
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
Slower than expected, still some dumbass decisions, the intentional grounding was stupid.. all he had to do was roll out and throw it out of bounds..Dumb, dumb, dumb.. But when given the time to throw.. he has made some good throws, I have been very pleased with his play the last 3 games and hopes he continues into next year with.. I will gladly eat crow if he proves me wrng.. And i hope he does.. and I think he will... he has shown me some real good things the last 3 weeks
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
Fargas 30%
Bush 30%
DMC 35%
FB's 5%
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
I'd have to see the cap hit before making this decision, I'm all for pink slipping the guy like yesterday
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
Right guard - FA - Chris Kemoeatu
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
If we can get a 30 front, im all for it.. I like the way Warren has been playing tho
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
OLB, he gets manhadled to much and struggles shedding blocks
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
He won it in week 10
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
Lost cause... Love to see us trade him for a draft pick.. Be all over getting a 3rd for the guy
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Stays, We were with our best pass rusher in Burgess... really, the guy has very little to work with... getting Maualuga in rd 1 and watch them name a street after him in Oakland
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Easily Houzh... He'd be a great vet and leader we lack on offense, I would have said Gross 4 weeks ago, but Henderson has been playing like an animal
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Neither
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
Maualuga... he should be our pick even if both those guys are there, there is no better plug in play right outta the box instant starter in this draft than Rey Rey
14. Pick 5 positions you want to see players drafted at:
LB - Rey Maualuga
C - Alex Mack , J Luigs
QB - Tom Brandstater
OLB - Zack Follet
WR - Jarrett Dillard

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job? YES. I am amazed at what he has accomplished the end of this season. Getting the team to play tough in December, on the road? Wow.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year? Cable, because I am realistic. I want a quick announcement, "He's the guy", and we can pretend to have a bit of stability.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here? I wish he were progressing at a Matt Ryan clip, but I like him still. Wish we gave him a better chance as an organization.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year? 50% DMC, 30% Bush, 20% Fargas.
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep? Cut him, send a message.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C? I am going to say LT. But I haven't really paid much attention to the C spot. I have hope for Henderson, but Wouldn't mind a true stud at the position. If Cable stays, and we go after a big ticket LT, that should tell us all we need to know.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line? A John Parella-type brought in at DT, and a Chris Clemons-type brought in at DE. That's being realistic, because we can't cut Tommy Kelly and Terd.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB? Maybe OLB, but I like him at MLB. I like the ranginess and speed. I think our LBs are going to stay just the way they started the season, with Ricky Brown as the SLB.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job? No, I think he'll get replaced at some point next year.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause? Pretty much. I hope for the best.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks? might get too much blame, so just beaten with hockey sticks.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take? Housh. solidifies the WR corps, and the young guys learn how a pro WR is supposed to act.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)? Crabtree. May as well lock up the triplets.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick? Brian Orakpo. DE is always my choice.
14. Pick 5 positions you want to see players drafted at:
DT
WR
OG
DE
OT
1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
Yes. Is he my A1 choice? No, but he's done enough to keep his job and lose the 'interim' title.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
Cable, Denny Green, Cowher (:))
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
He's doing fine, especially in December. Im excited about his future, and although we could have handled it better, Im OK with his progression/
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
McFadden: 50%
Fargas: 25%
Bush: 25%
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
Cut him, give his reps to Higgins and Schilens.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
Two weeks ago I would have said LT...Now Im gonna say RT. Move Green to the bench and bring in a replacement.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
I would be fine with 4 new starters in all actuality, but realistically, I think we need a new space eater at DT and a DE that weighs more than 240 pounds.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
Highly overrated by Raider fans, and I would like to see him play OLB.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
Without a doubt. Has any CB played as well as he had opposite of Nnamdi in the last 3+ seasons?
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
Trade bait. 3rd or 4th rounder to Detroit or Houston. Give all his reps to Branch.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Get him the fuck out of here.
We've never had a good D in the 5 years he's been here. No other DC would get that kind of reprieve after such mediocrity.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Gross without a doubt.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
Crabtree without a doubt.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
Watching Maclin right now, Im leaning that way, although Eugene Monroe is the best pass protector in the draft.
14. Pick 5 positions you want to see players drafted at:
LT (Fenoki Topou rd 3)
WR (Crabtree rd 1)
C (Max Unger rd 2)
DT (Demonte Bolden rd 5)
DE (David Veikune rd 4)
There's your super draft right there.

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
I think he has done enough to be considered. There have been mistakes with clock management, use of personnel and some complete non performances. On the plus side he does seem to have pulled things together and the final 2 games were our best back to back performances since I can't remember when. Russell has also made solid progress recently. What is his plan in terms of staff, who does he want/could he get as OC & DC? Has McFadden been used so little because of injury? Those are the sort of questions that I would need to know the answer to. I think we could get a better HC, but just as easily we could do worse.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
I haven't followed the NFL closely enough the last couple of season to make an informed choice. Green and Fassel seem the experienced options who could be better than Cable, but this is such a unique job they could fail just as easily.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here?
I think he has done ok considering the circumstances since we drafted him. This is a really big off-season for him and I hope that he is going to be working his nuts off. He has now had some significant action and can see the areas that he needs to be working on. I like that he takes care with the ball when throwing, but he needs to work on his handling to cut down on the number of fumbles. By the end of next season I am hoping that he looks like a QB in complete control, making audibles, scanning the whole field and avoiding sacks. I think he is a guy that can win here. He doesn't seem to get rattled and there were a couple of examples of executing in the clutch on Sunday. It is still early days, but I am generally encouraged by what I see so far.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
I might be alone in wanting to see a fairly even split. I really like his attitude, how hard Fargas runs and that he gets yards that McFadden doesn't always get. I guess the answer depends how much McFadden has been slowed by his injuries. If he has been at 100% then I am a tad underwelmed with him so far. That said if Bush can run more consistently and McFadden is back up to 100% then it makes sense for them to split the majority of the carries.
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
I think we should persuade him to retire or take him out to the Vegas desert.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
We need to address the LT position first, but it is possible that the answer is Henderson. The whole line has improved in the last couple of weeks which may say more about Harris than it does Henderson. We do need to add at least 1 more quality T even if Henderson can play the left side. I thought McQuistan actually looked decent at RT last season when he replaced Green, but we don't have a single player at the moment that you could count on. Center is also a position that needs to be addressed pretty sharpish.
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
We really need a dominatant player on the line, ideally a 2 gap run stuffer. All of our DTs are wave type players, so one dominant force could make a big difference. I think if we had that upfront then there would be less concern with Morrison at MLB. We also really need a 3 down DE or two. Richardson looked promising as a rookie, but hasn't progressed as I would have hoped. Burgess needs to be used more sparringly and Scott seems to have some promise as a pass rusher. What ever we do we musn't change to a 3-4. :p
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
I think Morrison is affected by what is infront of him as getting off blocks is obviously not his strength. . If we could do a better job of tying up blockers then he would be more effective. This is one of those examples of not getting the right players to play the system. I think Morrison could play either role.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
We will probably/almost certainly draft another corner, but hopefully not too early.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
How many number 9 questions do you want? I can't believe how Huff has dropped off. He was never the impact player we were hoping for when we picked him, but he was fairly solid and did a valuable job on opposing TEs. His tackling has never improved, but we still should be able to find a role for him. If we can get anything of value in a trade then it would be hard to turn it down.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
He probably has less autonomy than all the other DCs in the league and it is possible that he could go elsewhere and prove successful, but at the end of the day the situation here is what it is and he has only produced 1 good defense in 6 years.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Gross.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
I haven't really done any reading up on the draft yet, but it seems like Crabtree has what we need in a WR and an excellent attitude to go with it.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
Ask me again later.
14. Pick 5 positions you want to see players drafted at:
OT
C
WR
DT

1. Do you think Cable has done enough to keep the job?
I think so now. Up until the last few weeks, I wasn't sure, since there were screwups galore going on. The players all seem to respect him and listen to him, so that's a positive as well.
2. Realistically, who do you want to see on the sideline as coach next year?
If Cable can bring in some quality Coordinators to help him with the X's and O's of it all and a good Oline coach in his mold, then I say keep him for at least another year or so and see if he's got what it takes.
3. Do you think JaMarcus is progressing fast enough? Do you think he is the guy that can win here? The last couple of games make it seem so.
4. Percentage-wise, how would you like to see the carries split up amongst the backs next year?
For carries, I'd want McFadden to carry the heavier portion of the load, but I couldn't tell you percentages. Ideally, keep rotating them in and out to not only keep the D on their toes, but force them to account for the different styles in running (Fargas pounding between the tackles, DMC hitting the edge and Bush as a mix of the two). Plus, it adds other wrinkles like DMC splitting out as a WR, Bush throwing passes, etc.
5. Should we just cut Javon Walker, or do you give him another year to earn his keep?
First, look at the cap hit and weigh that in. I know that he's due a $5M roster bonus, so he'd have to drop that to even be considered. Secondly, see if his mind is right or not. It was easy to see that he was never mentally in the games, so he was fairly useless. If he takes a cut and has his mind back to normal, then I'd say yes.
6. Which offensive line spot needs to be addressed first? LT, RT, C?
I think Henderson may be a diamond in the rough and seems to have LT taken care of, so I'd say RT, C, and then RG. I know McUgly has the ability to play the right side, but he seems to have been placed in the corner before his injury, so who knows?
7. What additions/changes would you like to see on the D-line?
A space eating NT to compliment Kelly/Warren and a DE to take over for Burgess, since he seems to be declining rapidly. Sands seems like a player that would be great to spell the starters, but not a starter himself. Richardson and Scott should be able to lock down the other DE spot.
8. Kirk Morrison? better at MLB or OLB?
I honestly don't remember any of his play at OLB, but he is getting killed in the middle. Place him opposite of Howard and see how he does.
9. Is Chris Johnson going to hang onto the starting job?
I think he earned it, especially after how much I wanted him off the team in the previous year.
9. Michael Huff? Lost cause?
I don't think so. He did really well as SS in his first year, shutting down the dominant TEs, but his tackling is still in question. I think in the right scheme and with work on that tackling, he could be a great safety.
10. Rob Ryan: Tarred and feathered, or just beaten with hockey sticks?
Just don't leave anything when you leave. I don't want you to have any excuses to come back like an ex-girlfriend that leaves shit, just to fuck with you head again.
11. You are choosing between TJ Housh and Jordan Gross in FA. They both are ready to sign, you can only have one. Who do you take?
Can Gross play RT at a dominant level? If not, then Housh.
12. Draft day comes, and you are staring at Michael Oher and Crabtree. Your pick (assume we didn't get Gross or Housh)?
See question 11, just change the names.
13. If Crabtree and the two top OTs are gone, who is your pick?
Maulauga or Orakpo.
14. Pick 5 positions you want to see players drafted at:
RT, DT, WR, MLB, DE
