OK I think barring a Fabo trade for a player we are done with our major FA period aquisitions. We may still make a few minor moves.

Deals I want/expect to get done

Mike Rucker or Kalimba Edwards as our part time RE (Gholston or Chris Long being the full time).

Grady Jackson/other fatass as a rotational DT

one more Mike/SLB type LB

at least one more vet who can play LT

one more guy who has at least caught a few balls at the NFL level at WR

Fabo can be moved for a high pick or what I would love is fabo/4th for Levi Jones...

I'm pretty well satisfied from here. Assuming we go Gholston or DT with the #4 pick, then I'd be interested in bringing in Clark Haggans to play OLB and a little rush-backer on passing downs.

Rucker would be good for the locker room too, but does nothing to help with our problems of containing the run from the DE position (hello Burgess!).

I'd like to see us bring Frerotte in to compete with Walter for the #2 QB spot, with the loser going to #3.

ahh that reminds me of one I forgot... I'd like to have DC back for a backup's contract.

Not sure why Haggans isn't getting much love around the league. Guy averaged 6 plus sacks over the past 4 years. Could be a cheap alternative to Clemons and give us some LB depth. Will someone please get Grady two first class seats and get his ass into Oakland. Give him a vet minimum with some playing time incentives. That should be a no brainer.

Frerotten is a no-go I'd much rather bring in Dilfer

I'd also like another swing at Rod Coleman or Booger McFarland

Shane Olivea, Stockar McDougal, Chris Naeole or Gandy (I like old farts) on the OL.

I'd also liKe to bring in Chillar, for some reason I've liked this guy or my cuop de gras' Takeo Spikes to fill the OLB. There was something I read where he was signing with the Gayniners but nothing is finalized YET.

Now that Brayton is no longer with us we could also take a look at Jerramy Stevens :)

What, do we tie that bitch up like a tackling dummy and have everyone knee him after they slap the "I'm in" banner?

I don't think Coleman would ever come back here, besides, I think there's some serious injury issues with him. Someone would have grabbed him by now.

Considering we only have two QB's and two DE's on the roster, we've still got some work to do no matter what the plan is at 4... Plus I'm pretty much expecting a Burgess holdout considering he hasn't gotten his turn at the Al Davis ATM yet...

Marcus Spears is a guy you can swing from DE to DT... Since the Boys are shopping him, maybe one of our corners for Spears and a pick?...

Signing Grady almost seems too obvious, but maybe the DeAngelo Hall signing will be an added enticement since they are such close friends...

Max Starks is still out there but I dont' think we have to coin to pay the dude $6 mill plus a year...would be nice to have him at LT. I would like to look at LB Clark Hagans, Victor Hobson, DE Kalimba Edwards,Greg Spires, Bo Schobel and maybe Damione Lewis at DT, Rod Colemen and the Gravy Boat.

Hartwig signed with the Steelers....

Wouldn't suprise me in the least. I'm thinking he'll force Al's hand in a trade. With Aso's deal still to be done, I can't see any conceivable way we can re-work his deal.

I would move Fabo for spears in a heartbeat. Less then. Guy is a stud in a system that doesn't maximize his potential.

We could re-work it, but he has no leverage. Burgess might make some noise, but he won't be a problem. He's gonna be in camp, and play.

Burgess wants to get a re-worked deal, then he needs to stay healthy. No, we get one more year of Burgess at his current price, I'd say.

Guys with no leverage, coming of an injury-riddled season, and two years left on their deal don't hold out. And if they do, they don't get what they want.

I was under the impression that this was Burgess's final year. That's even better then.

The player I want to see us pick up is DE Spears from Dallas. I won't be surprised to see a Fabs for Spears trade.

A lot of Dallas fans are down on Spears. Most feel they'd be lucky to get a late second day pick for him. I think Dallas would have to sweeten up the pot a bit.

Wish List:

QB - Dlifer : Solid back up and a Vet that could really teach JR something.

WR - Dwight : I would like to bring him back, and if Carr goes to the Browns bring him back today.

OL - Olivea : WTF let him and Kwame battle it out for right and left sides....

LB - Haggans or Hobson : Haggans would be great especially if we go some 3-4. Hobson would be a adequate back up.

Just a few right now.....

Speak of the devil, from SI.com

That's a lot of money for one side of the ball in one offseason, particularly with the team still looking to add an edge rusher to complement left end Derrick Burgess -- who, by the way, has let the club know he is seeking a raise from the $2 million he's scheduled to earn this year and next.

I'll add DeWayne Robertson, whose bone-on-bone knee condition will kep him from getting traded. Should be released sometime between draft day and June 1.

Booger Mcfarland is meeting with the Steelers. He was cut after failing the Colts physical. I'd like to know why we aren't in play for any of these FA defensive tackles.
