Raiders | Team hopeful of trading Walter
Tue, 25 Sep 2007 07:18:45 -0700

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin said there is the possibility of the team trading QB Andrew Walter. However, with the injury to QB Josh McCown (foot), Walter may remain on the roster. "Sometimes things are just unlucky for a guy," Kiffin said. "In a way he's not having very good luck with JaMarcus' holdout and now a trade possibility coming up and Josh's injury maybe set that back. He understands. It is what it is. He could also be winning the game for us Sunday as well."

Walter,,,Well what can I say? The odd man out. Or the back up we have for the next 10 years?? I would love to see Walter stay. He needs to get accustom to being the long term back up for JaMarcus.
Well I have been thinking that Chicago would be a good fit for McCown, since he could be a little more mobile then Griese and Grossman. Or for that fact Culpepper may look good there as well. I think the starting job goes to Dante once he starts and wins in Miami this weekend.

Look like the ATL is out of the running for a QB since they got Fat Albert. Maybe Buffalo is another place we can send one of the guys. But I am not sure they want to create a QB controversy with Losman.
So our Options are limited. Let's hope McCown is out for a game or two and Culpepper has some good games and then we trade one of them to someone really desperate.......Because JaMarcus is coming..........

There is a lot of other stuff in this link to read as well but this is just this piece pertaining to Walter.

—Andrew Walter, the former Arizona State star whose tenure as the Raiders quarterback of the future lasted two seasons, is still awaiting his fate even after the activation of Russell.

The Raiders have been attempting to deal Walter to an unknown suitor, but an injury to starter Josh McCown may delay Walter's departure.

McCown hurt his foot in the win over Cleveland, and while the Raiders await word on how serious the injury is, they'll keep four quarterbacks on the roster.

Earlier, Walter hung around because the club couldn't come to an agreement on a contract with Russell.

"Sometimes things are just unlucky for a guy," Kiffin said. "In a way, (Andrew) is not having good luck with JaMarcus' holdout and now a trade possibility coming up and Josh's injury maybe sets that back. He understands. He also could be winning the game Sunday for us as well."

I predict Kiffin sends McCown on to the field in Miami on Sunday, riding a Lark.
