We are heading over to California at the end of the month and I want to pick up a draft guide or two while I have the chance. What would you recommend if any and what would you avoid?

Well, I just picked up the Sporting News guide just so I'd have something.
They rank Brady Quinn as a 3rd rounder... if that's any indication of the insanity that goes into these things.
I used to like Pro Football Weekly becasue they have a large number of profiles, but it's like $20.
Buyer beware I spose with anything you'll find on the news rack.

Yeah, Pro Football Weekly has a decent one. They publish two, one is a magazine, which is OK, and a book-type thing that is much more in-depth.
I've got PFW, ESPN, Lindy's and Sporting News.
They all have the main thing in common...Printed before the combine, so a guy like Bryan Robinson and Leon Hall's forty times are .3-.5 off and most of the listed measurables stuff are simply guesses...
I like Lindy's and ESPN's best, with PFW a close third.
Sporting New's is skip worthy this year. They were trying to be too outside the box, ranking Quinn 49th overall and a 3rd rounder, and giving hard working low ceiling guys like Pitcock, Crowder and Harrell 6 an 7th round grades.
Horrible.

The really odd thing about the Sporting News is they rank Quinn a 3rd rounder, but put him on the cover?!
WTF?

I'm sure they're counting on the Quinn fanboys to spike sales :D ...
I think the cover is a regional thing though... The one with Quinn on the cover must go to areas with a high percentage of pillow biters (no offense intended Limee, but just for your own safety, be sure it's hypo-allergetic) because the TSN distributed where I'm at features Dwayne Jarrett on the cover with the headline "Scouts love him... or hate him"... I glanced through it the other day at Safeway, but as usual, I find TSN pretty unimpressive...
I usually pick up the ESPN one as my reading room material..
I got the Quinn one with the same heading.
Im not gay though... ;)

Wierd, I live in Washington state... maybe Hawaii gets whatever falls off the back a the truck?
While more challenging, you'd think that these draft-guide folks would either:
a) Put out a revised edition post-combine (more sales!)
b) Wait until the combine and THEN put out the comprehensive guide
