View Full Version : If theres any doubt....
Clipped this from another site.. If its already been posted sorry..But If you hav'nt seen this ya gotta check it out
Russell is a frekin stud... This cats gonna be a great QB in the NFL. He's got something in him I have'nt seen from many QB's coming out of college.. check this cats plays...
I was all for a center or TE in rd 2 but man, its gonna be hard to pass up on Bowe if'n he's there
F*ck a buncha of Randy Moss.. trade him to Green Bay for their 3rd
And toss Porter to the curb as well.. Bowe, Curry, Madsen and Gabriel will be just fine in the Nips book
Long video.. make some popcorn, pop open a couple of beers and enjoy this shit..
And Fang..It's okay, we'll let the Zima pass this time

I highly doubt Bowe's going to make it to the 2nd round. The guy's played himself into mid-first status since he had the laser surgery to correct his vision. Can you believe the dude played high school and 2 years of college ball with vision so bad he was uncomforable driving?

Kiper and his Quaff have 6 recievers in the top 25! If only one of them slips to round two we could get some good value.

Good find Nippled One...
Kind of puts the whole "Russell has Leftwich like mobility" nonsense to bed, dudenit?....
Very impressive calmness in the pocket, very impressive throws to the skinny post, very impressive making plays when under pressure...
I wasn't aware that Bowe was legally blind before surgery
Let's just hope he doesn't end up with KC or SD.....

If that many WR's go in round 1, our 2nd round pick should be really solid.

Yeah, there was a story on it about a year or so ago... maybe during the summer. Basically he said there were games in which the ball would be coming at him and he'd see 3 balls and catch the one in the middle.

The more I see of that lightning fast release the more I think this youngster is going to be special. He can bring the ball off his hip and release a strong throw in less than a blink. Play action with a decent running threat could be unstoppable.
Pros:
Release - as good as I have seen in quite a few years.
Leadership - the players at LSU seemed to respond well to his presence. The defensive players always seemed to look to him as they were coming off the field and LSU was trailing.
Physical Tools - this youngster has great strength and decent speed (could improve the quickness).
Field Awareness - seems to know where the receivers should be and reads breaks well.
Coachable - From all accounts this young man is great pupil and hard worker.
Cons:
Inconsistency - sometimes his throwing mechanics break down, even with no pressure. Has to improve concentration.
Gambler - fights too hard sometimes to make something out of nothing. Going to have to learn that you can not throw away most NFL linemen, can not outrun most NFL linebackers and you can not throw through most NFL defensive backs.
Unknown:
Decision making - how well will this youngster do on read progression, QB-WR synchronicity. In other words does he have the mind-speed for the pro game.
The negatives and unknowns can all be fixed through good coaching.
I do wonder if Spence wanted assurances as to the Raiders drafting a certain QB #1. He then turned down the job when he didn't get that guarantee.

I guess that answers the question of what does Dwayne Bowe and a near blind hooker have in common.... I find it a liitle disturbing that the DMV would issue a guy like that a drivers license though...

Looks to me like he is capable of playing in whatever offensive system we might be running. I think he needs to learn to put a little more zip on some of his throws, but he is obviously capable of that as some of his throws are on a line even when he is throwing off his back foot on the run.
I think it comes down to the more mental aspects of the game, making the reads and as GTP said the speed of decision making that will be required. I think this is probably the toughest thing to translate from college to pro. The fact that he is very coachable is important. I think if he wants it and is prepared to put the work in he could have a great career.

There's no way Al is going to pass on this guy. Really not much more to add. One of the only negatives I could see is that he does have a tendency to stare down his receivers. If he can do that Peyton Manning quick look to one side before looking the other way, he's going to be gold IMO. I see a lot of Elway and Marino in him.

I dunno. Why not let him play ? Let him learn on the fly. Leinhart, Young, and Cutler did. So why not ? Get the exp. as a rook. Then the sophmore year is all the better. IMO.

Eh, throw Waltr to the wolves, till we know we can protect the kid.
From that film, (thanks Nips), it seems if he has negatives, it's that some of his passes are high, and often he just chucked it up there, because he knew his guy could go get it.
'He threw the ball 25 yards on a line, on the run right on the money'
-Watch the throw at about 2:21.-
Wow.
Edit: Or at about 530.
On the run, 50+ yarder...
Dudes got that whole Ebay "It" thingy
I dunno fellas, I got that whole stranded on Raider island for 4 years sucking fucking Palm Tree sapp and finally finding a box labeled Russell and prying it open to find 4 boxes of fresh matches, a saw, hammer, nails...etc..
Fuck the Proffesor
Russell will get us off this island.....

Hard to argue with any of this and I'm now wondering if Bowe is a better prospect than Dewayne Jarrett? Call me crazy, but that dude is one physical MOFO that can play.

I heard/read somewhere that even Pete Carroll has questioned Jarrett's ability to play at the next level.

because throwing a kid like this to the wolves would kill his confidense and make his already bad habits into attrocious ones.
